What AI upscaling can—and cannot—do
AI creates plausible detail while enlarging an image. It can improve apparent sharpness, but it cannot recover original pixels that were never captured.
- Check faces, small text and logos before publishing or printing.
- Start with the cleanest source available; heavy blur and compression artifacts may remain or be reinterpreted.
- Keep the original file. An upscaled image is a new version, not a replacement for the source.
Image upscaling questions
How much should I enlarge my image?
Pick the multiplier that reaches the size you need — a photo 1000px wide becomes 4000px wide at 4×. With a single image, the page shows the exact output size before you submit, and multipliers your image cannot reach are greyed out.
Does upscaling recover the original detail?
No. AI can create convincing new detail and improve apparent clarity, but it cannot retrieve pixels that were never present in the source.
What image formats can I upload?
Upload JPG, PNG or WebP images up to 5 MB.
Can I upscale multiple images at once?
Yes. Select up to 20 images in one upload. They start processing without another click, using the same quality and enlargement settings. Each image is charged separately and can be downloaded separately. Any image too large for those settings is skipped and not charged.
